ATLANTA -- As Spectrum Software, Inc., enters into its second decade of business, the Atlanta-based company that has traditionally consulted on software development announces it has entered the product development market with the creation of a Software Products Division. The division's first product release will be launched at the JavaOne show in San Francisco in early June.

"We're excited to be entering a new marketplace with our Software Products Division," said Sarathi Srinivasan, Spectrum president. "Up to now, the company has focused its efforts primarily on offering cost-effective systems design services on an outsourced basis for large and small business. It's just the beginning of the great things we expect to see from our new initiatives."

The Software Products Division is the company's third unit, working alongside the previously established Software Services Division and Multimedia Division. Its first product is an integrated suite of Java-based Source Configuration Management (SCM) tools.

"We saw a real lack in the marketplace of full-featured, affordable and platform-portable SCM systems, and our new product fills that void," said Srinivasan. "We're looking forward to a strong launch at JavaOne."

Srinivasan has over 16 years of experience in software development and consulting, with a focus on large software development applications. He brings a unique combination of solid technical, process, project management and business background to the Spectrum team. He has participated in all phases of the software lifecycle, developing applications for the telecommunications, telephony, financial, banking and document processing industries. His clients have included AT&T, Eaton Corporation, Lucent Technologies and other Fortune 500 companies.

Rounding out Spectrum's management team are K.R. Sundararaghavan, vice president, and Adrian Raybould, director of software development. They are proven technical professionals with more than 33 years of combined experience in the information technology industry.

As part of the company's growth, Spectrum recently retained Atlanta-based charbaxter.communications, a national branding and advertising agency, to provide strategic branding, marketing and public relations services.

Founded in 1991, Spectrum software is a software systems design and services firm providing cost-effective and efficient software solutions to large and small businesses alike.

    * The Spectrum Software Products Division specializes in creating productivity tools.

    * Spectrum Multimedia focuses on the development of new multimedia software for children, including the Dee Cee Dreams series and computer-based training products.

    * Spectrum Software Services is structured to engage in fixed-cost software development projects, software maintenance, reengineering and software consulting to businesses.
